Virgilee Park

Virgilee is the only segment of the Olmsted Linear Park which is named for an individual. Virgilee was Joel Hurt’s daughter; this park is her memorial.

Oak Grove Park

Oak Grove does contain an oak grove but is essentially a pastoral park which extends the design of the first two segments.

Shadyside Park

Shadyside is named for the heavily wooded section on the southern side of its western end.

Dellwood Park

Dellwood is named for the natural depression at its eastern end—a dell. It is graced with some particularly fine large trees.

Springdale Park

Visitors encounter a green knoll and a mature stand of oaks, followed by a sweeping pastoral dell.

Cheshire Farm Trail

Currently under construction, the Cheshire Farm Trail spans the South Fork of Peachtree Creek as it flows underneath the Ga. 400 fly-over, along the edge of I-85, between Cheshire Bridge Road and Lindbergh Drive. It is named for the Cheshire family, which settled the area in the 19th century, raised a family and built a farm.  

Morningside Nature Preserve

Morningside Nature Preserve (MNP) is 33.1 acres of woods in northeast Atlanta that is bisected by the South Fork Peachtree Creek. Originally known as the Wildwood Urban Forest, the preserve includes 2 miles of trails on both sides of the creek.

Armand Park

Armand Park is a City of Atlanta Park located in Fulton County along the South Fork Conservancy's Confluence Trail.

Zonolite Park

DeKalb County's Zonolite Park features 1.5 miles of gravel trails through 13 acres. The area includes an old-growth forest, a sunny meadow, small rivulets and a beautiful wetland garden. Wildlife seen here includes deer, fish, frogs and birds – including a pair of Great Blue Heron - songbirds and hawks.
