The 561-acre James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park is surrounded by rural countryside and the Chattahoochee National Forest. The quiet park in northwest Georgia has two lakes great for anglers and boaters with boat ramps and an ADA accessible fishing pier. The park also offers kayak and canoe rentals, and three miles of trails that loop around the lakes. Hikers, including younger ones, will enjoy the Marble Mine Trail which leads to an abandoned mine entrance near a trickling waterfall. Visitors can pack a lunch to enjoy under one of the four picnic shelters. A small campground and four cottages welcome overnight guests.

This park was named for Rep. James H. “Sloppy” Floyd who served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1953 to 1974.
