Fort Morris

Explore a landmark moment in American history and visit Fort Morris Historic Site. Located on the Medway River, near the Midway, the fort played a role in the defending Georgia’s coast against the British during the American Revolution and War of 1812. Today, visitors can stand within the earthwork remains and watch battle reenactments. A museum and film describe the site’s colonial history. This Liberty County site is on the Colonial Coast Birding Trail. Visitors may borrow binoculars and a field guide to go birding. There is a nature trail and a picnic area. The museum is staffed Thursday- Saturday. Guest can access the site for self-guided tours Sunday-Wednesday by paying $5 per vehicle at the collection box in the parking area.
